SALOON

A party is being held in an apricot-coloured saloon in the middle of the desert. So different family members arrive and have to behave as nicely as possible to ensure it is a nice evening. But the grandmother wants to dominate proceedings, the father keeps turning into a dog, the funny uncle is annoying, the teenage daughter is being ghosted by her crush, the son gets a football fired into his face, Alma cannot get a word in edgeways and the mother gets caught in the door with her big, red marble head. The table was already sour before they even sat down. The mood is poisoned, but who is to blame? For the SCHÄXPIR Festival Mia Oberlander transforms her latest comic ≫Saloon≪ (is published by Edition Moderne, autumn 2025) into a walk-in installation. As visitors you assume the roles of the family members and you can really get down to arguing. But then two mediation officers appear and start to examine the situation in more detail.
