Elefanten in Blutadern

© Manuel Kreuzer

And there they are again, those utopian, nostalgic fantasies. Edith and Sarah wish to be children once again. They would care for the elephants in their bloodstreams, for the soap bubbles of thoughts, and for building a tiny little cemetery for all the dying ants. Days of carefree happiness. Like they used to be, back when they were new and small, and saw, felt, smelt, and experienced everything for the very first time. Are those days real? Those playful, light hearted, fearless, laughing, wrestling days full of eating worms? Where did they go? When we fall in love, sometimes a few of those elephants in our blood come back, along with the butterflies in the stomach; if you look at yourself and your world with your head on the ground and your feet towards the sky, then you can feel of sliver of that child – in all its glory, wildness, ugliness, social unconventionality, beauty, and curiosity. Who is a child, who is a girl? When did we lose what he had? Can Sarah and Edith go back to being “everything”? Will you come look with us? Just for a moment, for a touch, an hour, a second?
