Where from?
For 25 years, SCHÄXPIR has been known for extraordinary theater art, innovative forms of performance, and visionary collaboration. This is reflected both in the audience as a collective community and in strong connections and partnerships between institutions in Linz and all of Upper Austria.
At SCHÄXPIR, we celebrate young audiences. Theater is always a place of gathering, exchange, and dialogue. SCHÄXPIR brings together not only different people, but also different age groups.
The SCHÄXPIR audience is diverse, intergenerational, and multi-perspective. The focus of the festival is clear: children and young people.
Why a festival?
A festival is a celebration, a special form of gathering. Of community.
Creating a special kind of dialogue and exchange.
A festival provides space for children and young people and a cross-generational audience. A festival listens, a festival gives many a voice. The festival format opens up possibilities: in a short period of time, things become possible that are usually not possible at theatre operations in everyday life. A festival is the exception. The special thing.
Where to?
Through theater and art, we can comprehend reality. We can live utopias, experiment, and share fantasies. As a biennial theater festival, SCHÄXPIR aims to fill Linz and Upper Austria with dreams and possibilities that we will only comprehend in the future. SCHÄXPIR aims to connect, celebrate community, and to unite diverse people as a collective community. SCHÄXPIR wants to provide impulses and inspire visions.
